The Road to a Cursed Town
After spending the night in the shadows of the Temple of Nazuk-Narbog, the party began the road to Niddurok's missing town.
Giant Ambush
While passing beneath a ridge, two hill giants began throwing boulders at the party. Through a cloud of darkness, the giants manage to kill the party's mule, but ultimately failed in their ambush.
Despite some serious injuries, the host dispatched the hill giants and found their nearby loot. Among the valuables where a number of sashes, apparantly taken from familiar foes.
After some much needed rest and healing, the group marched forward to the town of Zabir-Miraz.
Zabir-Miraz
Situated on a rare oasis within the Burnt Land, the town of Zabir-Miraz is well-kept but completely empty and quiet. The heroes immediately make for the bazaar in the center of town, which is owned by Niddurok.
Grey dust fills the air and is sticking to everything around them. In fact, the terracotta dust is beginning to form a dome similar to that which surrounded the ancient temple.
Niddaruk brings the stolen totem to the party, and they begin to devise a plan to free the townsolk from this curse. Displaying the Rods of Kadriel, they notice that the dust expands away from them.
Raelith speaks up at this point, and tells the party about Katrin, a witch that served on the Blackwoods Council with him many years ago. The pair were charged with the safety of the Rods. Raelith's charge was to hide the Rods and guard their location, while Katrin's was to keep safe the knowledge of the means to use them. Only she knows how to use them and at what cost.
Luckily, she lives a mere two-days' journey by road, and so the party sets out to seek her assistance.
